Emergency Medical Care was Established in 1990 in Scotland and,1996
in Northern Ireland.
William Shaw (Director and Founder) of the Organisation started training as a nurse in 1970 and
after the completion of training was first male nurse employed by British Steel as occupation health nurse and
then went on to join Scottish Ambulance service at that time as technician until 1990. I also was commandant of
St Andrew's Ambulance Corps in local area and instructor with St Andrew's Ambulance Association for many year, we
also provided first aid to the making of the film "Bullseye" with Michael Cain & Roger Moore and directed by
EMC grew out of the genuine interest of a group of people with the passion for CPR and the
need to train in First Aid and Defibrillation to local schools and community in West Lothian and Central Scotland.
some talks with friends in Northern Ireland from 1996 it was decided to open here and we are now registered with HSE
NI and CITB (NI). All our instructors are assessed on a regular basis and the expertise is gained through practical demonstrations
and knowledge based through various organisations such as, UK Resuscitstion Council, European Resusitation Council,
British Heart Foundation, & HSE NI. So you can be assured that you have the most up to date practices that are available.

Aid to H.S.E. guidelines and our approval No in N.I. is 88 we are also approved by the CITB (NI)
EMC has a fully up to date First Aid Training Academy in Magherafelt with parking and diabled acess and
toilets within the building.
